Ciaooo all my dearest friends!
How are you all doing?
Today is the perfect day to write again on my blog!
Normally I had to work, but this morning my two students called me to say they were out of town for their jobs, so suddenly.. here I am, having one day off!
Talking about work: everything goes very well. Two days of the week I teach little children (from 3 to 5 years old), and on the others days I give Dutch classes to adults,which is a nice combination! Only children would be to tiring and only adults would ge to boring! ;-)
Two days ago the head coordinator of the school told me she was very happy about my way of working, so that's always nice to hear! In total i'm doing 20 hours a week, which doesn't sound much, but including all the travelling time here in Rome, it almost turns into a fulltime job! But that's good! I like having things to do!
But enough about work, let's talk about life in Rome! Well, it can get you very stressed or it gives you this eternal feeling of summer and holidays!
This week I rather damned the city because three days ago they've stolen my bike, my funny green Atlantic Mountainbike! I can hear you already thinking, 'stealing a bike, that's not such a awful thing, it happens everywhere!', and I agree! but what make me angry here in Rome, is that I just don't understand the romans!
When they see a bike, they panic! In the appartment buildings the residents immediately complain when they see that someone is bringing in a bike, and even if you leave it on a perfect spot in the building where it stands in no ones way,and where you can hardly see it, they still complain! So they oblige you to take your bike to your flat on the seventh floor with an elevator that is hardly big enough for two persons, so imagine all the thing you need to do to fit it into the lift! But that's only one thing.. the other thing is: Nobody uses a bike in Rome, so why steal it!!
To make my story complete: the day after they had stolen my bike, manuel his bike got stolen as well! Incredible!! This is Rome at her best!
Luckily, this weekend offered some nice discoveries, so the feeling of being in the eternal city got the upper hand again! Sunday they organized a sort of 'open doors day', through which you could visit some historical building that are normally closed for the public! We, for example, went to see the 'camera dei deputati' (the parlement, palazzo montecitorio) and it was really worth the visit! Besides it was a sunny day and we treated ourselves to a very tasty icecream!
So, as you all can see, nothing special happened..the days are passing by with the typical ups and downs, just like everywhere else in the world!
I hope you are all doing very well, wherever you are and whatever you are doing! If there is some news, or you just feel like writing or calling or texting, I'm always very happy!!!

- Sam & Haelim: I just looked at the pictures on facebook and it's just wonderful! It all looks so breathtaking! And Sam, what a great head you had (eventhough it was a bit heavy I heard...) Haha..
- Kirsten, Jens, Miet, Benoit en Dieter: Did I see it wright, but did you had some belgian beers over there?? GREAT! And even without the beer, I think the company was already perfect!!
- Iedereen in Belgie: ik heb net mijn tickets geboekt, en ik ben van de partij van 21 december tot 6 januari! Haal die agenda's maar boven want ik ben er klaar voor! Oleeeee
- Liesbethje: bedankt voor je mailtje! Alles dus naar wens hier in Rome! Maar zeg, ben jij intussen geen stap hoger geklommen in je carrièreproces? Welke titel kan ik nu best gebruiken: chef lies/patronesse Lies/directrice Lies/teamleader Lies/Leidster lies?
- Veerle V: mijn prosseco begint te verdampen! Snel afkomen dus! En, als het gelieft, geef je me je adres eens door!
- Miss Veerle Le Feu: Almost Almost 1000 terrassen in Rome!
- Frezebees en Elkebees: komen jullie mee naar normandie?
