And it rains again!

Ciaooooooo belli miei! Hello my dearest darlings!

How are you all doing? Has spring begun in your country? (and I'm not only refering to the weather, but also to your mood, your way of looking at your life! Spring always brings a good feeling with it, no?

It has been more then a month since I last wrote something on my blog, but don't worry: I have no intention of leaving it unused!!! ooh no!! so, for all of you who are curious to hear what happened these last weeks, here comes my little report!

In Rome the weather has been very strange! In comparison with last year it rains really a lot more, and, with the exception of 2 weeks, it hasn't been too warm! For me, that's no problem, because I think, once it will be july/August, we will be longing again for some rain.. It's just a real pity that it will rain a lot on monday & tuesday: a photographer is coming to Rome to take some pictures for my tourist guide, but pictures of Rome when it rains.... not really very nice, no?!

As for the tourist guide, this will be my last task: bringing the photographer to all the different places of my book! Last week I aslo needed to draw all the different walks on six maps. I finished on friday, so I posted them to the publishing house in the Netherlands!

With this job coming to an end, I started looking again for other things! And maybe with success... Here in Rome there is a little Dutch School, where children who are in Rome temporarly can go to so that they don't lose the Dutch culture & language while they are here! They are looking for teachers to start in september, so when i saw the vacancy, i thought: why not call? eventhough I'm not a teacher, who knows with my degree in speech and language I can talk me into it! The lady on the phone told me that they are really looking for persons with a teaching degree, but that a Dutch speech and language therapist would be very welcome as well! so, I could send my CV and motivation letter! Then, two days later, I received a mail of that same lady who I had called, to ask me if I would be interested in being speech and language therapist, AS WELL teacher! So, of course , I said yes! now, I have to wait for her phonecall to see if I can come for a job interview! It wouldn't be a full time job, but that doesn't matter! I see it as a very good start! so, please, my dearest darlings, cross your fingers for me!!! I promise I'll let you know what happens!

Now, Manuel and I are thinking about what we'll do during the summer! And it looks like we will be going to Normandie!! Oooooh yes, many of you know already how incredibly nice it is over there, isn't it Enrique, Rachel, Santiago, Laura, Katrin, Kathrin, Wouter, Frederiek, Liesje, An-sofietje, Veerleke, Frezebees, Miss Le Feu, Elketje, Natalieke, Joketje, Kirsten, sam, Jens, etc..

That way we can spend a very relaxing holiday without spending tooooo much! so, we looked for cheap flights, and it looks we'll be going at the end of july till the begin of august! At the end of july there is also a very big festival in Gent, MY CITY, going on, called: the Gentse feesten! it lasts 10 days, and all kind of events (concerts, theatre, etc..) are taken place for free or for a very good price! So, maybe before leaving for normandy, we'll spend an evening at the Gentse Feesten! That's the idea!

With Manuel everything is going very good! He's making an effort to finish with all his exams by september, so that he can start with his thesis, hopin to graduate somewhere between december 2008-february 2009! Then he'll have to decide himself whether he wants to contiune with a master or start looking for a job!

In Rome, everything has been passing by in a nice, relaxed way! For example: things we've been doing:
- going to a gratis open air jazz concert at the casa del jazz! very nice and very relaxing! while listening to the concert, everybody was laying in the park, having a picknick!
- My brother came to visit me! Very nice because we just wandered around in Rome without really doing any touristic visit! Just "hang out, eat, drink and relax"!
- With our friends in Abruzzo we went to il focaraccio in Avezzano, where basicly people have a party while standing aroudn a big camp fire!
- with the same friends, we also went to the first may concert in Rome! A very big event that lasts the whole day, and that is for free!
- A flatmate of Manuel celebrated his birthday, so they had organized a party! It was a lot of fun!

Time really passes by very quickly! I'm just hoping that soon I'll find a nice job as well, because I hate doing nothing! maybe you're thinking: but why in the meantime sofie doesn't work as a waitress or something else, but really: after all the summerjobs I did, and after all the stages and all the studies, I really want to do something real & serious! so, oooooh, let's hope I'll manage!

Well, darlings of mine, what are your plans for the summer? Any holidays in prospect? and how is work/studies going?
Anyway, thanks a lot for all the mails I receive regulary! They always make my day, and I really mean it!
