Hello to the world!!
How nice to know that you, my friends, are following my adventures here in Rome from all over the world: From Finland to Brasile to England to Japan to Australia to Belgium to Germany to Spain to Austria to France etc..Isn't that just great!!
Let me see.. What news do I have...
Ooooh! Big news, but unfortunately not so good!
one week ago I almost got robbed! As every morning I was cycling to my school when all of a sudden a very crazy man jumped in front of me and grabbed my bycicle! He completely blocked me so I stepped off my bike, shouting he had to let go of my bike,, but nothing happened, so I decided to free myself by grabbing his hand, but there was no way i could move him away from my bike! So I kept on saying: Leave me! Let my bike go! Fortunately there was a man standing next to me who had seen it all and who helped me by asking this lunetic to let me go! But this one became all of a sudden very agressive and started hitting Carlos (the man who tried to help me!). They fighted and fighted, they fell down in the puddles left from the rain, a lot of people stopped to watch but.. nobody helped! In the end there was one lady who in the end called the police.. All of a sudden the crazy one went ran away, but came back after a while to spitt on us! In the meantime I tried to help carlos as much as i could because his face was completely covered in blood! How horrible.. he had wounds everywhere and his clothes were completely ruined!
After a while the ambulance came and I joined carlos to the hospital for a check-up! Fortunately he didn't have anything serious.. Then we went together to the police to press charges (yes yes, I did a testimony completely in Italian)!
How they did it, I don't know, but they had managed in the meantime to catch this crazy guy! so I went to identify him and I agreed on going the next day to the tribunal to testimony again.. 4 hours i waited there to hear in the end that I have to return on the 7th of march to tell the judge what happened! Italy....
Quite a story.. for 2 days I didn't go to school because I was either at the police station or at the tribunal! Luckily nothing got stolen, everybody is well and they managed in getting the guy! He came from Eritrea and was staying in rome as a political fugitive.. probably after this they will send him bakc...
But no worries, I go again by bike to school (although I have to admit I changed my route a bit!)
Otherwise everything goes very very very well here in Rome!! I'm expecting in an hour my 2 dear belgian friends to arrive!! Yes yes, I got visitors!! I already cooked the diner for tonight.. Diner here is something holey! The last week we didn't do anything else then inviting friends over for diner! I must say: I really like it! Let's hope one day we'll get re-invited at their homes for a diner they prepare! ;-)
School passes smoothly as well! To my great regret, some people are leaving again.. I'm afraid that next week school will be a lot more boring without them! Well, we'll see..

Als ik me goed herinner, mogen mensen niet teruggestuurd worden naar Eritrea wegens te gevaarlijk. Tenzij die Italiaanders iets strenger zijn dan hier.
Misschien wou die mens gewoon solliciteren voor Allez, allez, Zimbabwe? Hoe durf je die mens zijn carrière zo in de weg staan? ;) -
