How are you all doing? Have you been on holidays already or is there still a nice vacation coming your way?
It's been over two months since I last wrote on my blog, but summertime is just too much fun to go sit behind your computer! Now, my summer has come to an end and I would like to tell you all the beautiful things I've been doing!
First the most important things:
1. I moved flat in Rome, so that means you'll have to delete the old one and from now on use this one:
Sofie's new address:
Sofie Demuynck 'Coppola'
Via Malagodi 26, int 4
00157 Roma
Italia
2.This time I don't have a fixed line, so who wants to call me, has to use skype or my mobile number that still is the same:
Sofie's italian mobile:
0039-334.26.86.431
3. My tourist guide, called '100% Rome' is about to get published! The publishing house already sent me a copy, and from the end of september onwards they should be for sale in almost all bookshops! (For example: Fnac, A.S. Adventure, etc..). It costs 10.95€, and is pink! But the most important thing: There is my Picture on the first page inside!! How FUNNY!!! I must admit, I feel quite proud, and it's a very funny feeling to know there are selling your book (with picture!). Maybe now I should translate it in other languages so that you can also can buy it in Germany, Spain, England, Australia, Italy and in all the other places you are all hanging out! So, my dearest friends at home, whoever goes get the book, my autograph I will give it for free! ahahahaha...
4. I started working here in Rome! Three days ago there was my first meeting with all the teachers of the Dutch School of Rome! (5 in total). I'll be teaching on thursday, friday and saturday, and my classes will consist of the little ones, from 4 to 6 years! Then, on wednesday or on tuesday, I'll probably also give private lessons to three other children, at their home, a bit further away from the centre of Rome. so, in total, I'll be doing about 12 hours every week. Not too much, but just perfect to start I think. Also, here in Rome, I'll lose a lot of time just by travelling from my home to the different locations where I'll be teaching. But that's okay. Who knows I can also keep writing some articles for some other magazines, like I did now for 'Libelle' (By the way, the article still hasn't been published, but when they do, I'll let you know!!).
The other teachers seem to be nice. there are three Dutch women (one of 25, one of 32 and another older lady). Then there is myself and another flemish woman. In total there are about 50 studiants at school.. Tomorrow there is a BBQ planned for all the teachers at someone's home, so then we'll get to know eachoter some more! On saturday, there is a welcome-day for children and for the parents! Then on the 18th september I really start teaching! I'm a little bit excited I must say.. Let's see how everything turns out..
5.This summer I've been at home for about 6 weeks and I enjoyed it really really a lot! Most of the time Manuel was there as well, and together with some other Italian friends we went to NORMANDY!!! Hmmm, it's just so awesome there! We also had beautiful weather, so it was just a perfect holiday! My mum, dad, grandmother and brother were there as well, so we had a holiday all together! The rest of the time, I just spent at home in Belgium, meeting up all my dearest darling friends.. I enjoyed it more then I can say! Just like back in the old times! hmmm.. I loved it!
Well, that's about it!! Now I'll put some pictures on the internet of my holidays in Normandy, and then later, once the room is furnished and decorated I'll put some pictures of it as well on the site! That way you can see whereto you are sending you postcards! (yes yes, I love postcards, so just keep on writing them!! hahaha..!)
I hope you are all doing fine! Whenever you find some time, just write me! I'm always very very very happy to read about what's happening to you all.. Really, I do!!
A very very big hug to you all, and we'll hear/see/write eachoter very soon!!
All the best, and just keep on smiling! Baciooooooooooooooo, sofie

Kathrin:
Hey Sofie,
nice pictures from Normandie! Of course I had to remember our trip! Funny, your parents came along, too. Did they learn Italian beforehand?
All the best from Berlin (especially for the teaching job)!

Ciao Sofietje,
bella mia che fantastico che tutto va bene!!!
To make it a little bit easyer now in english - next time I promise to write italian again ;)
I am really happy to hear about your tourist guide and as soon as you translate it into german I will buy it!!!!
(And it's pink - how cool!!!! ;) )
My life is still full with law, law and lawbooks. Last week I wrote the second part of my final exams and it was really bad... I just received a very good grade for the first part but I think with what I wrote last week I shouldn't be partying... :(
Now I try to motivate myself for learning for the last part in November...arrggg. And as it seems I will rewrite everything again in april next year. so again learning learning learning. Our time in Italy or even New Years eve seems soooo far away...
But there is also good news: After my final exam in November I will go directly to Indonesia and build a small hotel on a small little Island next to my diveshop. So next year I hope to open it and then of course I need a good travel-book-writer to come over and check it ;)
Well I really don't know how things will go next year - hopefully I have some time again to visit Italy!!!!!
Untill then I wish you all the best for your start in the school - must be really exiting to be the teacher now!
Take care and "tanti auguri" to Manuel and Valentina!
Bacio grandissmio!

Louise:
Sofietje,
Liefs,
Louise en Jurgen
