A week has passed by since my last update.. Not that long I can hear you thinking, but again, a lot has happened!
Let's first talk about my classes...
They got really difficult now. This week we made excercises on 2Il congiuntivo and condizionale2. very complicated.. Although french helps me to understand it a bit better, it still remains very confusing because there are only small differences between the "conjugaison" of the indicativo, futurro, imperativo, condizionale and congiuntivo! So The only thing I can do is STUDY! Indeed, maybe some of you might have forgotten, but I do study here!
Not only the verbs got very difficult but also the use of the pronomi! Oooh dio.. But well, we only got started with the excercises last week, so I'm sure, with time, I'll get better and better at it!
My class finally got a bit smaller! Some people left, and others went a level down, so at this moment we're with about 10 people, and most of them are also very motivated, so that's nice! Alex, my german friend, is also still in my class! I'm very happy about that because she was thinking of maybe finishing the language course. It's always much nicer to have your friends around! I do wonder how it will be like in the second semester.. A lot of people will return in december to their homes.. also some of my good friends.. A bit sad I think.. Of course their are still my buddies from the accademic year, but the more the merier no?
Apart from going to school, I did of course a lot of other things! on wednesday evening for example, I got to try out my first Aperitivo! Oh dear, how I like this concept! Let me explain: for 5 euro you get a drink, and you can serve yourself with the best food at this wonderfull buffet! and the good thing is, you can return and "refill " your plate as much as you like! How wonderfull! Together with Alex, Shun and satshi (my japanese friends), we ate, drank and enjoyed our evening!We enjoyed it soo much that after the aperitivo, we paid a visit to another bar afterwards: Ombre Rosse! A very cosy bar in Trastevere!
And since it was so nice, Alex and I decided to return the next evening to that same bar! Also because we had seen that on thursday night they were giving a free jazz-concert, and this of course it something that appeals!So, on thursday-evening I found myself again back in the ombre rosse, enjoying my wonderfull red Chianti and the beautifull music.. la dolce vita no?
For friday there was no real plan for the evening because (again) there was a strike in rome from the public transport, so no busses, trams or metro was going! Very very annoying because people with no car, like me, are just trapped in their house.. BUT, sitting home isn't really my thing, and thanks to Alex, I did go out! A Italian friend of her, Matteo, had invited her that evening to go (FOR FREE) to one of the most famos clubs in Rome, Art Café. And since Alex probably noticed I really wanted to go there too, she called matteo and asked if I could join as well! The answer you know already: before I knew it, I was in matteo's car with alex and a other italian friend of matteo! Indeed, we didn't pay entrance! How great! The club itself was a bit a disapointment.. Nice interior, but very strange people I thought! Very fancy dressed (the ladies maybe a bit too fancy.. I mean, the boobs and bibs were everywhere!) But, no worries, we started dancing and we did have a lot of fun! By 5am I was home again.. tired but happy!
Yesterday, so saturday, I did as usual my washing, did some cleaning, studied... In the afternoon I wanted to go to my Dutch buddies to help with preparing a birthday, but again, because of a manifestation in the city centre, there were no busses and I was stuck again! So, I just returned to my house after waiting for more then an hour! In the evening I was thinking of meeting with some friends from school (Huei, Steffi, Milou, Valerie, ..) to go for a drink, but then I got a message from daniele, inviting me for a pizza at Gallo Rosso, a very typical roman pizzeria, a bit out of the centre of Rome! I asked all the friends to join me, but only Valérie, my swiss friend, came along! It was very very nice: the food, the atmosphere, the company (marco, Daniele, Fabrizio, Peidro, and 3 italians girls) ...I enjoyed it very much! And btw, if I meet now with my Italian buddies: No more english we speak! Only Italian! I like it!! Afterwards we went to a irish pub for a drink, but all of a sudden I got soo tired.. so, after a glass of wine, we all went home: But again, it was 3am.. time goes soo quickly!!
Tonight I'm going out again.. for dinner! A girls, Lisa, has her birthday today, so it's the best reason to go out for a dinner, no? Really, Italia is not the best country if you don't want to gain weight! I don't have a scale here, but I can feel my trousers are getting more and more difficult to close! :-) But as long as they still fit, It would be a shame to leave it all! Sofie Gastronomy remember? ;-)
Next week will be a busy week again.. lots of plans already! for example I'm going to watch a champions league game, going for a dinner at a friends house, going for a dinner with the people from the academic year etc... Qualcuno è invidioso?
I'll tell you more about that later!
